Develop an interest in life as you see it: in people, things, literature, music--the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.

About the Artist
Lisa was born in Pontiac, Michigan to an entrepreneurial/artistic father and loving mother. Her family moved to California when she was two years old. As a young girl, Lisa was encouraged to follow her artistic nature by taking ballet lessons and learned to paint alongside of her father. Inspired by her older sister, Lisa learned the craft of stained glass which led her to the various uses of glass in her artwork.
After studying the techniques of printmaking and metalsmithing at Mission College, Lisa signed up for a glass blowing class at San Jose State University. In contrast to the freedom of printmaking, glass required more perseverance and physical labor to create a desired form. Yet the very essence of glass inspired Lisa by its endless possibilities.
A recent graduate from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, Lisa has experimented with the combination of glass and various mixed media which led to her latest creations of textiles and glass. Using fiberglass screen, bird netting, fused glass, and fibers, Lisa creates wearable art clothing which suggests the concept of fashion as sculpture. Typically glass is viewed as a functional element, yet Lisa uses it as a sculptural component in her work.
Lisa resides in Northern California and lives happily with her husband John.
